We’ve recently begun to integrate electronic digital signatures into our invoice factoring process. There is ample legal precedents to now feel secure about this method of signing documents. The law protecting electronic signatures was passed by the Clinton Administration back in 2000. Here is a New York Times article about it at the time. And here is a page of background material and links to articles and white papers.
One company that provides a seemless solution, with all kinds of tracking and archiving is EchoSign. After attending a Webinar on their program and reading through their material, it’s apparent they have been providing this service for a number of years and have a significant amount of feedback.
Additionally EchoSign is committed to being green. EchoSign uses 100% NativeEnergy wind-powered renewable energy certificates to offset all power used by their servers and hardware. Because Creative Capital Associates is also working to be a green factoring company, we embrace this technology and will be expanding our use of electronic signatures.
