CCA Joins In The Success of Technology Challenge 2003 - The annual Technology Challenge 2003 student competition at the Montgomery College was a success. Approximately four hundred students from elementary and secondary schools participate in nine different challenges. Parents and educators from across the state, science and technology education teachers from competing schools were in attendance for the March 28th event. "We believe that the most effective way of learning skills is "in content", placing learning objectives within a real environment rather than insisting that students first learn in the abstract what they will be expected to apply." NFTE Spring Regionwide Business Plan Competition - The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship held its business plan competition in May. The goal of the NFTE program is to teach young at risk students how to succeed as business entrepreneurs. Mr. Honig, President of CCA factoring company, helped out both as a mentor during the "creating the business plan" stage and as a judge in the semi-finals of the competition. "After being introduced to the whole concept behind the NFTE program I jumped at the chance be involved. Watching the kids work on their businesses is truly inspiring."
